The project database incorporates the codicological data of German fight books and German martial arts texts in manuscript and print created between 1300 and 1600. At the moment, it encompasses XX manuscripts and XX printed works.
In a second stage, it will also include data on the individual texts within these archival documents alongside with transcriptions according to academic standards.
In a third stage, these transcriptions will be annotated and cross linked in order to highlight persons, places, and the technical lexis of premodern martial arts.
A fourth stage then will include images contained in the archival documents and their metadata.
